Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Social Housing Rental Program applicant(s) must:

1. Be either a Canadian Citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, a refugee claimant or have legal status to live and/or work in Canada.
2. Have a total adjusted household income at or below the Social Housing Rental Program Income Limits established by Manitoba Housing. (manitoba.ca/housing/progs/pil.html)
3. Be able to live independently, with or without supports.

ECFC Housing manages properties in Swan River, Minitonas, Benito, Bowsman, Birch River, Mafeking, Barrows, Dawson Bay and Pelican Rapids.

Important information to include with application

Income verification – please provide documentation of current income source; pay stubs, budget letter, funding support letter, Proof of Income Statement from Canada Revenue Agency (can be printed from CRA MyAccount or sent in mail by request).

Rental History – include rental history for all applicants. If no previous rental history, support letters from any enrolled programs, or support workers, employers or community leaders will assist in the approval of the application.
